Christians for Torture?
On the subject of torture in defense of national security author Laurence M. Vance, in two articles posted at LewRockwell.com, calls for Christians to contemplate whether violence and faith agree. The striking dichotomy between the tenants of faith and the apparent support among some Christians for “whatever means necessary” to protect and preserve American interests has also caught the attention of The Associated Press in an piece titled “Torture debate prompts evangelical soul-searching“.
Share your thoughts: Are the responsibilities of faith and patriotism always compatible? Does this pose what the Bible refers to as a “stumbling block”? What does this convey to those who believe their torture has come at the hands of a “Christian Nation”?
